This is a Quick Guide on How to Set Up a Twitter Account

Head to Twitter.com

– Click on the sign up box

– Put your full name in the first box

– Put in your user name ( now remember if you are trying to brand your self for a marketing reason, you will want to use that same name as your website, blog, Facebook account, MySpace, LinkedIn and any other sites you have signed up with.) This will allow anyone looking for you online find all your valuable content.This all ties into social networking!

– Put in your email and password

– You will then want to go into settings and upload a picture of you smiling and or having a good time especially if you are in sales or marketing of any sort.

– Make sure you check ” Let others find me by email address”

– Choose whether you want geotagging on or off, which enables third party applications to pinpoint your location when you tweet. (good idea if you are setting up a Twitter account for your children on their phones)

– Choose whether you want your tweets protected or not – this only allows people that you approve to follow you to see your tweets.

– Go into “Settings” then “Mobile” which allows you to register your cell number and tweet from your phone by texting to number 40404 ( just remember that tweets are only allowed to be 140 characters to where standard texts are 160 – so be careful)

– Its also a great idea to insert a bio about you, people do want to know who you are and what you like, remember this is social networking.

– If you have a website or blog put that info in the box that says “web box”

– Its also a good idea to get away from the standardized background that everyone else has, be original, be exciting, be fun, while you can pay for a really glamorous background, I have had great luck and some really great free backgrounds at twitterbackgrounds.com

– If you also have websites or accounts on Facebook, The home Based Business Network, LinkedIn, TweetMeMe, EzineArticles, Squidoo or any other site, it’s a good idea to set these up in the “connections” area which will allow you to tweet the content from those popular sites.

– OK now that you are set up and want to start tweeting there are a few things that you might want to know. Tweets cannot be any longer than 140 characters and there are following and followers rules. The rule is once you arrive at the 2000 mark you always have to keep the difference between the two at 10 percent. If you don’t follow this rule you will be kept from following anymore until your followers have caught up to at least 10 percent. Also if you are using Twitter to market a service or product you really need to provide some valuable content like quotes,articles,videos or news updates, the rule of thumb is for every “tweet” of your business you need to “tweet” three valuable content tweets.

– You have the ability to go in and “Find people” and you can find them by groups,friends,their email or Twitter name. Once you put in a name like ” Jim Smith begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting” you will see a list of people or businesses with that name on the left, on the right you will have three boxes. The first box says “follow” which clicking on that gives you a green arrow meaning you are now following that person,the second box says “manage lists” meaning you can put people you are following in different lists, the third box gives you more options main one you will use is unfollow that person if you chose.

– Occasionally you will get a “DM” which means Direct Message from someone, its good karma to answer them back as long as it’s a legitimate message, again remember this is social networking

– If you get into thousands or tens of thousands of following and followers you may consider a few tools to help you manage the marketing aspect if that is what your doing. Tools like Social Oomph which allows you to set up tweets in advance, Friend or Follow which filters people that you are following but not following you and Hummingbird that is a automation program to name a few to help you generate more tweets and followers.

– So this is just a general overview of how to set up a Twitter account, I hope it helps you get through the initial set up.

Your Home Based Business Office Do You Really Need One

Do you have yourself a Home Based Business? Do you have a separate room set up for your office? Is it quiet, without any distractions?

I was reading something last night that really hit home with me! So, as much as I hate to admit it! I AM SO GUILTY of this one.

The article was actually about just taking 5 minutes of your time each morning, before you start getting to work on your home based business and straighten something out in your office or life. It could be anything that you think would help you to get yourself more organized, maybe clean off your desk, file some papers, it could be just about anything.

Then she went on and talked about looking around and finding the things that you were not happy about and change them. If you had a mess to get rid of it, if you didn’t like the way things were, to change them.

This Really Hit Home With ME.

Well, I went out today and bought myself a new desk and a nice chair. You see I do have a computer desk, with my computer and printer on it, that’s about all that I can do on it. It is more of a Hum- How would you say? Yes piece of decorative furniture!

Also it is located in my kitchen. I actually have an open concept in my home, the living room is attached. Is that how you would say it? Yes I guess so – I have access to everything right from that point. The fridge, the stove, the sink, the TV, etc. I actually had my laptop sitting on my counter, with my router box right next to it. We would trip on the cords daily. Truthfully!

Are you getting what I am saying here? Yes, this did work, for a while anyways; until I saw a dirty dish, noticed my plants needed a drink or a suddenly thought I needed a snack. Everything was real convenient; I had a lot of distractions.

Well I did find a few strong boys to carry this big old desk and set it up in the basement. I now have myself an office to work my home based business. Yep, its real nice & quiet too. I actually have got more done in the last 3 hours then I have in 2 full days!!! Wow! I am here to tell you guys!!! Get yourself a space you can call your own to work on your Home Based Business! You will find yourself getting more things accomplished by simply getting things in order.

I just don’t let those little things bother me, so I didn’t think it was a big deal. But now that I have set up my own office, I realize it is a big deal.

If you are just getting started in a home based business opportunity, or if you have one already and you don’t have an office set up, do this today! Everyone tells you this is the first step to take, but how many people actually do it? I didn’t, I thought that I had my desk right next to me and that was alright!

Network Marketing Duplicate Your Marketing Efforts To Grow Your Organisation

Duplication is the key to grow your home-based business in network marketing.

Duplicate your network

Network marketing is a home-based business where as the name implies, you can work at the comfort of your own home. Actually you are your own boss and employee of your organisation but you are not going any further than that without building your network.

So you need your down-line to help you to expand and bring in more business builders and customers. It is much productive to have 1000 people working for you for one hour a day each than you putting in one hour yourself.

When you recruit John, John became your down-line. When John signed up Mary and Mary signed up Peter, all these people Mary and Peter will also be your down-line.

From the above, you can see the power of duplicating your efforts and each one below you who will be duplicating their efforts to sign up more people to their down-line.

Expand exponentially

Let see how a simple example how duplication can helps to grow your network exponentially:

First you signed up 2 recruits as your first layer. Then they duplicate their effort and each of your first layer recruits 2 members each to bring your second layer to 4 members.

Then the 4 members in the second layers will recruit 2 members each, bringing your third layers to 8 members.

Then the duplication continues, and each of the 8 members in the third layers will bring in each 2 new members, bringing in a total of 16 members as your fourth layer.

In a matter of a week or so depending how hard you train your down-line, you have produced 30 members in just 4 layers. Remember that the person you signed up and those your down-line have signed up are all your down-line.

Double your efforts

Can you imagine if you would double your effort and guide and help all your down-line to double their effort too and you would have hundreds and even thousands when you go to seventh or tenth layers down?

Disregard what is your status in the organisation, you will be compensated from the purchases of your customers you recruits and that of your down-line own purchases and that of their recruit’s purchases and those of their customers’ purchases, and not only solely on the basis of how many recruits you have got.

Clone yourself

To duplicate your marketing effort is like cloning yourself. In order to clone yourself, you must pass on your skill and knowledge of prospecting to your down-line.

Earn residual income

If your down-line can duplicate everything you have learned and are doing everything like you to bring in business builders and customers, you have created a win-win situation. In this case, your down-line will earn tremendous residual income from repeated customers’ purchases. Your down-line success is also your success to earn the residual income of your entire organisation.
